Mons, Belgium
Belgian Conference on Ecotoxicology (BCE 2026)

The first edition of the Belgian Conference in Ecotoxicology (BCE 2026), organized by members of the UMONS team and which will take place at the University of Mons (UMONS) from 28 to 30 October 2026.

This conference has been created by young researchers, for young researchers, with the aim of providing a supportive, stimulating, and accessible platform for early-career scientists. The event's objectives are to promote scientific exchange in a friendly and inclusive atmosphere, encourage first conference presentations, and foster interactions between young researchers from different institutions and disciplines.

The conference features an exceptional lineup of women plenary speakers: Julia Osterman (University of Gothenburg), Chloé Bonnineau (INRAE), Krishna Das (University of Liège). They will share their expertise across a wide range of topics, including pesticide risk assessment and pollinator protection, microbial ecotoxicology, and marine pollution across food webs.

Each participant may also apply for the best poster and/or best oral presentation awards (separate prizes for Master's and PhD students), funded by the Belgian Society of Toxicology and Ecotoxicology (BelTox).
