KIC ERA meeting following the progress of WildPosh

19 Mar 2025

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) hosted a KIC ERA online meeting on March 14, 2025, bringing together over 120 attendees from various institutions. The event presented the latest findings and progress of a few of WildPosh’s work packages.

The meeting began with an update on WP1 focusing on the development of a monitoring scheme to track pesticide exposure across different environmental compartments and matrices. WP2 highlighted findings from multiple research institutions, each focusing on different wild bee species and their sensitivity to pesticides. A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to WP4, which deals with data collection, standartisation, and distribution. Researchers discussed their ongoing efforts to integrate new datasets into the WildPosh project while ensuring data quality through rigorous cleaning, validation, and standardisation processes. The WP4 team is also building upon previous work done under the Safeguard Project, aiming to create a comprehensive and accessible database for future research and policymaking.

In the upcoming months, researchers will continue refining exposure assessments, expanding experimental studies, and improving data-sharing mechanisms to support pollinator conservation efforts.
