The Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Freiburg announced a unique PhD opportunity as part of the Horizon Europe project WildPosh. The selected candidate will investigate the effects of individual pesticides and pesticide combinations on wild pollinators such as wild bees, hoverflies, and butterflies.
The ideal candidate will contribute to WildPosh's overarching mission of improving the evaluation of risks to wild pollinators and enhancing pollination services' sustainable health in Europe. This three-year position offers the opportunity to work on an international research project, access support from the University's Graduate Center and conduct innovative semi-field experiments to advance our understanding of wild pollinator toxicology.
In this PhD position, you will be responsible for independently planning and conducting semi-field studies on the effects of pesticides on wild pollinators, analysing data, writing papers for international journals and presenting findings at conferences. Additionally, you will co-supervise Bachelor's and Master's students and conduct literature research on topics aligned with the project's scope.
