WildPosh coordinator presents the project on Belgian national television

27 Feb 2025

Prof. Denis Michez, the coordinator of WildPosh, recently had the opportunity to present the project’s work on a Belgian national TV programme. During the broadcast, Denis elaborated on the impact of pesticides on wild pollinators. He explained how to test the pesticides on bumblebees in laboratory conditions, and how it is important to understand the lethal and sublethal effects in relation to the different dose the pollinators can be exposed to in real conditions. Additionally, he introduced the public to the species diversity of bees and the tools to recognise them.

The programme aired three times on Belgium’s first national television channel. In addition to its televised broadcasts, the episode was also made available for streaming, ensuring that an even wider audience could engage with the work conducted under the WildPosh framework.

The recording can be accessed online at the following link (in French, starting at 17:24): https://auvio.rtbf.be/media/matiere-grise-matiere-grise-3293416

By leveraging national platforms to share insights and findings, the project continues to emphasise the critical role of pollinators in biodiversity and ecosystem health.
