WildPosh was recently represented at the XII European Congress of Entomology (ECE 2023), a major entomological meeting held in Heraklion, Crete, Greece from 16 to 20 October 2023.
This year, nearly 1000 entomologists from Europe and beyond gathered to connect and exchange ideas, alongside Pensoft Publishers representatives sharing insights into several EU-funded Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects: B-GOOD, Safeguard, PoshBee and PollinERA Project.
Attendees of ECE 2023 had the chance to visit the Pensoft booth, grab one of our newly designed two-pagers and learn more about the project’s mission and objectives.
“Sometimes we forget the beauty of nature – I do not study bees because they are good pollinators, I study bees because they are beautiful,” shared the project coordinator Prof Denis Michez of the University of Mons (UMONS) during his presentation on biogeography and ecology of European bees. During the conference, Denis and WildPosh's project manager Sara Reverté (UMONS) also ran a workshop on bee identification.
The WildPosh Project, a.k.a. Pan-European assessment, monitoring, and mitigation of chemical stressors on the health of wild pollinators, is set to officially start in January 2024. Based on experience from the PoshBee project, the goal is to improve the evaluation of risk to wild pollinators of pesticide exposure and enhance pollinator health and pollination services in Europe.
